Staff Accountant (Temporary)

Pay Rate: $31-$40 per hour
Location: Walnut Creek, CA (Hybrid - 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Anticipated Start: Approximately 1 week after candidate identification

Overview

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Accounting team during a busy period. This temporary role is ideal for someone with a strong GAAP foundation who enjoys hands-on accounting work, including account reconciliations and close support. The ideal candidate is proactive, curious, and comfortable asking questions to ensure accuracy and clarity.

This role will work in a NetSuite environment with integrated tools such as RAMP, helping automate portions of the accounting process.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close activities
• Perform account reconciliations (reconciling is a major focus of this role)
• Prepare and review journal entries as needed
• Support general ledger accounting and variance analysis
• Work with large volumes of transactional data
• Assist with expense and coding workflows through RAMP (integrated with NetSuite)
• Collaborate with managers and team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting

Qualifications

Required

• Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles
• Experience assisting with month-end close
• Strong reconciliation experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced accounting environment

Preferred

• Experience with NetSuite (highly preferred)
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or RAMP
• Background in environments with automated expense or coding systems
